For 25 years, the RI Japan Society has been a center of support, friendship and networking for the Japanese community in Rhode Island, as well as a “go-to” resource for individuals and businesses interested in learning more about Japanese language, culture and trade. We offer Japanese language classes for both children and adults from basic levels to advanced, as well as Japanese arts and culture classes. Activities for members may include traditional Japanese dinners, trips and special events. The Society sponsors various cultural events in Rhode Island and partners with other Japanese groups in New England to bring new and exciting Japanese artists and events to the state. Non-Japanese speaking people are always welcome at all events; your interest is the only requirement!

Language class schedule Fall 2009

Monday - Adult Advanced (every other week) 5:00-6:00 PM

              Adult Conversation only (Intermediate) 6:30-7:30  PM

Wednesday - Kids Advanced 5:00-6:00 PM

Thursday - Adult Beginner 6:30-7:30 PM

Saturday - Adult Intermediate 11:30-12:30 PM

*Kids beginner class will start from 10/24! (saturday) 12:30-1:30 PM*

High School Kids Class will start in November!

Japanese Film & Anime Club

The monthly Japanese Film & Anime Club will start from Wednesday September 16th! Kids who are interested in Japanese animation should join in this club! You can share your passion for animation and talk about your favorite animation-- Bleach, Naruto, D-Glrayman, Fruits Basket and more! Adult animation fans are also welcome to Join!!
